Our Managing Director, Maddie, works closely with families and children during the settling-in process, ensuring both parents and children feel comfortable, safe, and happy. With over 15 years of experience in the childcare sector, Maddie opened Yellow Star in March 2012, committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can develop, learn, and thrive.
Our Approach to Care
Here at Yellow Star, we believe that every child is unique and deserves a tailored approach to their care. Our nursery is designed to accommodate children from birth to 5 years old, with a focus on providing a stimulating environment that fosters exploration, discovery, and learning. Our highly qualified and experienced staff are passionate about delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring each child reaches their full potential. We also encourage parents to stay involved by accessing their child's Learning Journal on the Tapestry platform.
Active Learning
At Yellow Star, we understand the importance of an active and engaging learning experience. Our programme is designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. From exploring the outdoors to participating in extracurricular activities like football, Tiny Mites, yoga, and signing classes, our children have the opportunity to develop essential skills, build confidence, and make lifelong friendships.
Healthy Eating
At Yellow Star, we believe that good nutrition is essential for healthy development. Our nursery provides a variety of healthy and nutritious meals and snacks, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. Our menu is designed to encourage healthy eating habits, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
A Day at Nursery
A typical day at Yellow Star is filled with a mix of structured and unstructured activities, designed to cater to the diverse needs of our children. Our nursery is divided into age-specific rooms, each tailored to meet the unique needs of children aged 0-5 years old. From sensory play to arts and crafts, our activities are designed to stimulate imagination, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
