The Ramsholt Arms is a popular riverside pub and dining room, situated on the banks of the river Deben. The business was reopened in June 2013 by the same family behind the Michelin recommended Ufford Crown just fifteen minutes down the road. Being the only south facing pub on the river, the Ramsholt Arms enjoys beautiful sunsets and is popular in the summer with holidaymakers, families, and sailors who make the most of the sun-soaked terrace, neighboring beach, and crab fishing jetty. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy a variety of fresh locally caught seafood, sharing platters, and a real American barbecue at weekends. As the nights draw in, the menu features hearty winter warming dishes, taking advantage of game from the local area. The business continues to take reservations inside, with tables outside available on a first-come, first-served basis. Group bookings can be made inside and in the marquee upon request.
The reviewers have collectively praised the food, service, and atmosphere at Ramsholt Arms, with many commenting on the quality and portions of the food, the friendly staff, and the stunning views of the River Deben.
However, not all reviewers have been pleased with the parking arrangements at Ramsholt Arms, with some feeling that the introduction of numberplate recognition cameras and the requirement to register their car at the pub has created an "ungreney" experience.
