Hollies has been proudly serving the community for three decades, having first opened our doors in Sherwood, Nottingham. We are a family-run business, and it is our privilege to have been able to play a role in the early development of thousands of children, with three generations of our own family being involved in the business.

Hollies Hands Signing Programme
I am Adele Miles, and I was first introduced to baby signing in 2010. I immediately saw the amazing communication benefits of signing, and after using it successfully with both of my children, I became a Baby Sign teacher in 2016. I am proud to introduce Hollies Hands Signing Programme, which utilises British Sign Language (BSL) signs. Our programme equips little ones with an additional tool for expressing their needs, wants, or sharing what they see around them. Hollies Hands Signing sessions focus on early years development areas such as communication, listening, sharing, waiting, taking turns, gross and fine motor, following instructions, copying, imitating, counting, colours, and more.
At Hollies, we believe that signing is an essential part of a Baby and Toddler's early years communication development. We use BSL-based signs to allow them to express their needs, wants, or share what they see. Our goal is to help children understand and react to signs, develop speech, assist with sentence structure, reduce frustration, and promote multilingualism. We are open from 7:30 am till 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Hollies Arnold
Hollies Arnold, opened in 1995, is located in the tranquil surroundings of Bestwood Country Park in Nottingham and provides the perfect environment for developing imagination, creativity, and physical skills. Our experienced nursery cook prepares healthy and balanced meals on-site, and children are encouraged to try new things at mealtimes and make good choices.
Hollies Sherwood
Hollies Sherwood, our first nursery, was graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2022. We are located just off Mansfield Road and offer a calm but exciting environment where children are nurtured and encouraged to be curious and engage in the activities they enjoy doing most. Our large, spacious rooms provide plenty of opportunity for learning and creativity in a homely environment.
Nursery Experience
The reviews for Hollies Sherwood Nursery are a mix of positive and negative experiences. According to the positive reviewers, the nursery has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are caring, friendly, and passionate about their work. The children are well taken care of, and the staff go above and beyond to ensure their happiness and well-being. The nursery also offers various activities and extras, such as yoga and tinytalk, which are deemed popular among the children.
Staff and Care

Another parent was not chosen for the nursery due to what they perceived as discriminatory practices, stating that the nursery only employed white women. There are also concerns about the nursery's handling of changes and unexpected events.
