A Community Pub, run by the community, for the community
The Case is Altered, a community-owned and volunteer-run pub in the village of Bentley, Suffolk, has a rich history dating back to 2014. Our story began when a group of passionate individuals in the village came together to purchase the pub from Punch Taverns, raising the necessary funds through a share offer. We were thrilled to start our new chapter in Easter 2014, with the help of volunteers who were instrumental in the transformation of the pub.
Our History
Over the years, we've worked tirelessly to improve the pub, undertaking various refurbishments and expansions. We've been fortunate to have a loyal and dedicated team of volunteers, who have helped shape the pub into what it is today. Our goal has always been to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, where everyone feels at home. We've achieved this by hosting a wide range of events, from live music and quizzes to book clubs and craft sessions.
Our Services
As a community-owned pub, we're proud to offer a unique range of services that cater to all ages and interests. We have a fully stocked bar with a rotating selection of guest ales, as well as a variety of snacks and beverages. Our menu features a variety of bar snacks, including crisps, peanuts, and savoury biscuits. We regularly host visiting food vendors, offering everything from pizzas to authentic Thai cuisine. Throughout the year, we also participate in charity events and fundraising activities.
Our Garden
We're proud of our beautiful garden, which is the perfect spot to meet with friends or enjoy a quiet drink. Inside the pub, dogs are welcome in the designated areas. Our garden has plenty of seating and is a popular spot for customers to enjoy the fresh air and surroundings.
