Tavistock Museum is a town and community museum situated at the historic Court Gate in the centre of Tavistock. Our exhibitions and stories will fascinate the whole family! We have a wide range of collections on display, including the history of Tavistock's Medieval Abbey, the local hero Sir Francis Drake, and the Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. Our museum shop offers a range of books, DVDs, and other souvenirs. We are run by a charitable trust and staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers. Visitors are kindly requested to make a donation towards our running costs in lieu of an admission fee.
The museum is a lovely and welcoming place with a lot of interesting information and exhibits.
Some reviewers felt that the museum looked tired, needed updating, and was closed due to repairs or special events.
