The Saxon Arms is a beautiful thatched flint-stone pub, set in the pretty, rural village of Stratton, in West Dorset. We are much-loved in the community for our quality, home-cooked food offering, superbly kept cask ales and an extensive wine list. Run by landlord and landlady Rod and Janette Lamont - who have over 40 years experience in the trade - and supported by a loyal and well-trained staff team, The Saxon Arms has long established itself as the hub of the local community and one of the best dining pubs in the county. We source from local producers which represent the best of British food, and serve a wide range of traditional British dishes, and a comprehensive wine list, featuring a wide selection of over 35 world wines, many available by the glass. We also keep at least three real ales, continental lagers, and offer a wide range of artisan gins, malt whiskies and speciality teas and coffees.
The majority of reviewers praised the Saxon Arms for its fantastic food, great service, and welcoming atmosphere.
A few reviewers noted some minor issues, such as limited vegan options and sticky tables, but these were largely overshadowed by the overall positive feedback.
