Empowering Young Minds through Imagination and Knowledge

Our Vision and Mission

At Oliver Tomkins CofE VA Infant, Nursery and Junior Schools, we believe that every child deserves a happy and caring environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential. Our vision is taken from the Bible: I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 Our mission is to live this vision through three key values: aspiration, thriving, and wellness. We aim to facilitate high aspirations for all, ensure that every member of our community feels valued and respected, and strive for wellness for all.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, challenging, and relevant to our children's lives. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that covers all the key subjects, including English, maths, science, and the arts. We also offer a range of extracurricular activities and clubs to support our children's hobbies and interests.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to support our children, including a family support worker, a family forest school, and engaging with the local community. We also offer parent information sessions, newsletters, and forms to keep our parents informed and involved in their child's education. Our school day runs from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm, and we have a dedicated uniform policy.

Our Extra-Curricular Activities

We believe that extracurricular activities are an essential part of a child's education. We offer a range of clubs and activities, including music sessions, sports teams, and hobby clubs. We also offer homework ideas for KS1 and Early Years, and home learning archives for KS2.

Our Safeguarding and Welfare

We take the safeguarding and welfare of our children extremely seriously. We have a range of policies and procedures in place to ensure that our children are safe and well. We also have a designated safeguarding lead and a child protection policy.

Our Inclusion Policy

We believe that every child has the right to an inclusive education. We offer a range of strategies and resources to support children with special educational needs, including the pupil premium, special educational needs, and dyslexia-friendly schools.

Our Church School

We are a Church of England school, and our values and mission are guided by our Christian faith. We have a strong Christian ethos and a dedicated RE and worship team.
