Welcome to Belmont Day Nursery & Pre School, a highly professional and dedicated childcare provider. We offer full day care for children aged three months to five years, and cater for free funded 15 hour and 30 hour childcare places. Our nursery is registered for 53 childcare places and is divided into three rooms based on children's ages.
Our Aims
Our aims are to provide excellence in early years care and education. We strive to make the nursery and preschool years a happy and rewarding experience for every family that we serve. We provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children, respecting and valuing each child's individuality. We work in partnership with parents to meet the needs of the children, providing a happy, relaxed, and supportive atmosphere.
Staffing
We ensure a high standard of service is consistently provided by our carefully selected, dedicated, and talented team of qualified childcare professionals. Our staff are all DBS checked and have a real desire to work with and care for young children. Each child is allocated a "key-person" who takes special interest in their welfare and development. We encourage and develop our staff through ongoing training, including advanced childcare qualifications, curriculum planning, first aid, food hygiene, child protection, and special educational needs.
Quality Assurance
We consult with the Redbridge Pedagogy Advisory Team and are members of the Preschool Learning Alliance. We set ourselves the highest of standards and are consistently self-assessing the work that we do, participating in the Redbridge Quality Assurance Scheme. Our services are regularly monitored to ensure that we promote good practice.
Facilities
Our nursery is divided into three rooms based on children's ages: the Yellow Room, catering for children from 3 months to 3 years of age; the Green Room Pre-school, catering for children from 3 years to 5 years of age; and the Blue Room Pre-school, catering for children from 3 years to 5 years of age. We have a milk kitchen, separate from the nursery's main kitchen, where all bottle feeds are prepared. Our toileting areas are age-appropriate and help build children's confidence in toileting and practising good hygiene routines. We also have separate nappy changing facilities. Our garden acts as an extension of the children's rooms and is equipped with physical play equipment. We have a sheltered pram park available to parents with young babies.
Curriculum and Learning & Development
Our curriculum is designed to promote learning and development in a way that is tailored to the individual needs of each child. We use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework as a guide, incorporating observation, record-keeping, and assessments to monitor each child's progress and keep parents accurately informed.
Uniform
We have a simple and practical uniform policy in place to ensure that our children feel comfortable and recognized within the nursery. Our uniform is designed to be easy to clean and maintain, and is available from our nursery uniform supplier.

We work in partnership with parents to meet the needs of the children, providing a happy, relaxed, and supportive atmosphere. We have a range of policies in place to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, including policies on safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunities.
Session Availability and Settling In
We offer a flexible sessional system, with childcare options to suit the needs of our parents. We understand that settling into nursery can be a daunting experience for children, so we offer a gentle settling-in process to help them feel comfortable and secure.
