Welcome to Incey Winceys, a family-run day nursery located in the heart of South Woodford, East London. Since our establishment in 2009, we have been providing high-quality childcare services to families in the local area, catering for children from birth to five years of age. Our aim is to ensure that each child and family who walk through our door feels welcomed, happy, and confident with the care we provide.
At Incey Winceys, we understand that choosing the right childcare for your child can be a challenging decision. That's why we strive to create a warm and nurturing environment where every child is loved, feels settled and secure, and is respected as an individual. We believe that every child is unique, and our experienced and dedicated team works tirelessly to provide the highest standard of care and education to meet each child's individual needs.
Our Team
Our staff team at Incey Winceys are committed, caring, loving, and extremely knowledgeable about the developmental and individual needs of each and every child. Each member of staff within the room is a 'key person' to a small number of children, allowing them to focus on them and giving you a valuable point of contact at the beginning and end of each day. Our staff retention is excellent, and we are proud that once we find someone brilliant, we want to keep them! We never use agency staff as we believe that consistency and continuity of care is of paramount importance, not only for the children but also to you as a parent.
All staff are qualified or working towards their qualification in Childcare, Learning & Development Level 3, NNEB, or have other recognised and accredited qualifications in childcare. In addition to this, all staff are trained in paediatric first aid and food hygiene. Over half of our 20-strong team have training in fire safety, and we have designated officers who are trained in Special Educational Needs, Health & Safety, Safeguarding (Child Protection) and behaviour management. Our team are encouraged to engage in ongoing training and we provide opportunities for everyone to access learning in specific areas of child development. All staff have an up-to-date enhanced criminal record check, and have been deemed suitable to work with children.
Our Management Team
The nursery is owned and managed by Hannah Ince, who has a First Class Honours Degree in Early Education Studies from the University of Greenwich. Hannah's knowledge of children's learning and development has been instrumental in creating a nursery that values and promotes children's well-being and happiness. Hannah works alongside Manager, April Rohen, and Assistant Manager, Asha Luckie-Robinson, both of whom have extensive experience in the childcare industry.
What We Offer
Our nursery is split according to the ages and stages of the children that we care for, and each room has age-appropriate toys, equipment, and activities. Our baby room, catering for children aged 0-2 years, is a large, open plan space consisting of four rooms which the children can confidently explore to their hearts' content. Our toddler room, for children aged 2-3 years, is a large open space that opens onto the garden and has many exciting areas for the children to play in and explore. Our pre-school, for children aged 3-5 years, helps to prepare our children for the next big step in their lives, whilst still focusing on learning through play and having fun.
At Incey Winceys, we understand the importance of providing a healthy and nutritious diet for children, and our experienced cook prepares all of our meals on-site. We are committed to providing a secure and safe environment for all of our children, and our security and safeguarding policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that they meet the highest standards.
Our Curriculum
At Incey Winceys, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which sets the standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth to five years. Our curriculum is designed to provide a broad and balanced range of activities that are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. We believe that children learn best through play, and our experienced and qualified staff provide a range of activities that engage and stimulate the children's natural curiosity and desire to learn.
Inclusion and Special Educational Needs (SEN)
At Incey Winceys, we believe that every child has the right to access high-quality childcare and education, regardless of their individual needs. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where all children are valued and respected, and we work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure that each child's individual needs are met.
Staff and Environment
The staff at Incey Winceys nursery are praised for being warm, caring, and dedicated to the children's well-being. Many parents have reported that their children have developed strong bonds with the staff, and that they feel safe leaving their children in their care.
