At Pinehurst Primary School, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum that is designed to engage and inspire our pupils. Our curriculum is divided into the following areas: English Reading Phonics Writing Maths Science Religious Education Computing History Geography Art Design Technology Music Physical Education PSHE Modern Foreign Languages - Spanish. We also provide a range of services to support our pupils' learning and development, including remote learning for SEND pupils, support for English as an Additional Language (EAL), and additional funding for pupil premium, PE and sports premium, and COVID catch-up premium.
Our Nursery provision is divided into two sections: Little Pine Cones for 2-year-olds and Little Acorns for 3-year-olds. We also have a Foundation 2 class called Ash and Oak, followed by Year 1 classes Cherry and Elm, Year 2 classes Fir and Yew, Year 3 classes Cedar and Hazel, Year 4 classes Chestnut and Holly, Year 5 classes Maple and Sycamore, and Year 6 classes Birch and Willow.
Our School Day and Facilities
At Pinehurst Primary School, we operate a soft start system where children can arrive at school between 8.40 am and 8.50 am via the main gate on the rear playground for Years 1-6. We have allocated gates for dismissal at the end of the day at 3.15 pm for Reception, 3.20 pm for KS1, and 3.30 pm for KS2. Our school facilities include a large playing field, two playgrounds, a kitchen, and a community room.
