Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Isle of Skye, Sconser Lodge is a charming small family-run hotel that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere to its guests. With its rich history dating back to 1871, the lodge has been beautifully restored to its former glory, retaining its original charm and character.
Our Story
Sconser Lodge is owned and run by Lisa and Craig McMath and a small team of local staff. We aim to provide a relaxing and comfortable stay, combined with a traditional country house atmosphere. Our goal is to make your stay with us an unforgettable experience, filled with tranquil surroundings, delicious local food, and warm hospitality.
Rooms
Our eight en-suite rooms are individually decorated and well-appointed, featuring TVs, hospitality trays, and hairdryers. Many of our rooms offer stunning sea and loch views, making them a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the island. We also have a family suite and triple room available, making us an ideal choice for families and groups of friends.
Dining
Our dining room offers the full Scottish experience, with a delightful breakfast spread to start your day. In the evenings, we serve a small menu, which aims to make the most of the abundant local produce. Our bar offers a range of fine malt whiskies, Scottish gins, and Isle of Skye ale, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. Non-residents are also welcome to dine with us.
Activities
The whole island is easily accessible from Sconser Lodge, allowing our guests to explore all that Skye has to offer. For the energetic, the Cuillin mountains are close at hand, with low-level walks in breathtaking scenery or peaks to challenge the most experienced climbers. The Isle of Skye Golf Club is next door, with discounted day tickets for residents. Slightly further afield, there are opportunities for pony trekking, boat trips, and a range of activities on the Isle of Raasay.
Weddings and Functions
Sconser Lodge is a licensed venue for small weddings and functions, and we are happy to arrange other functions as requested. Our experienced team will work closely with you to ensure that your special day is a memorable and enjoyable one.
Tariff
Our room prices for 2024 are as follows:
- Low Season: 195-240
- High Season: 170-215
A non-refundable deposit of 25 per room per night is taken in order to secure the reservation. If the booking is cancelled within 7 days of arrival, full payment will be due unless the room is resold.
Location
Situated centrally between Broadford and Portree on the banks of a sea loch, Sconser Lodge is the perfect base to explore the whole of Skye, with the Isle of Raasay just a short ferry ride away.

Ambiance and Service
