Our History
In 1902, William Wallace left his home in Crosshouse and took over a carriage hiring business in the small scenic town of West Kilbride. Over the next decade, his business thrived as he provided his lifeline, horse-drawn transport service to the locals of the village. However, with the outbreak of World War I, life as it was changed forever. William's business adapted to the changing times, and he continued to prosper, eventually purchasing his first motor hearse in the mid-20s. The family business offered both motor and traditional horse-drawn carriages for weddings, funerals, and day-to-day travel.
