Robert Rarity Funeral Services is an independent, family-owned funeral director that has been serving communities in North Ayrshire with bespoke and dignified funeral services since 2001. Our business was founded by Robert Rarity, who has a deep-rooted passion for providing a personalised, high-quality funeral service that blends the highest professional standards with a friendly, local face.

We understand that losing a loved one is an emotional and challenging time, and we are here to support and guide you through every stage of the process from the moment you contact us until your loved one is laid to rest and all funeral arrangements are complete.

Our thorough and open approach ensures that we can provide help with all or any of the following: coffins, caskets, and memorials, including specialist and unusual choices; arrangement of burials and cremations, including woodland, sea burial, and scattering of ashes; floral tributes; limousines and transportation, including horse and carriage, motorcycle and sidecar, as well as boats; personalised Order of Service Sheets; a choice of venue and catering to suit your wishes and attendees; order of service printing, hymn sheets, and acknowledgement cards; viewing; and newspaper announcements.

We are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, with expert advice and emotional support, and we serve North Ayrshire and the Garnock Valley. It is our responsibility to ensure that funeral arrangements are conducted with the efficiency and dignity that this most personal and difficult occasion demands.

Who We Are

Our team is made up of experienced and compassionate funeral directors who are dedicated to providing a personalised and dignified funeral service. Robert Rarity, our founder, has over two decades of experience in the funeral industry and is known for his attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Carol Houston, our area office manager, has been with the company for several years and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our funeral homes.

Our senior funeral directors, Robert Evans and William Menzies, have extensive experience in arranging and conducting funerals, and they are committed to providing the highest level of care and support to families during their time of need. Daniel McInnes, our funeral director, has a keen eye for detail and is dedicated to ensuring that every funeral is carried out with the utmost dignity and respect. Lisa Currie, our Beith and Garnock Valley funeral arranger, is known for her compassionate and empathetic approach, and she works closely with families to create personalised and meaningful funeral services. Elizabeth Walker, our Skelmorlie funeral arranger, has several years of experience in the funeral industry and is committed to providing exceptional care and support to families during their time of need.
