Planning Your Visit
Our museum is located in the heart of Edinburgh's city centre, just 500 metres from Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street. We're open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, Saturday from 13:00 to 17:00, and Bank Holiday Mondays from 13:00 to 17:00. We're closed on Sundays and Mondays, but we're happy to accommodate groups and special requests.
Museum Facilities
Our museum is designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our visitors. We have a one-way system throughout the galleries, hand sanitiser available, and additional cleaning carried out during the day. Our shop will be open and can be accessed on the way out of the museum, with a protective screen installed at the till counter and contactless payment preferred. We also have accessible and baby-changing toilets, as well as basic first aid facilities.
