Our People
Our team of over 30 staff members are the backbone of our nursery, and we're incredibly proud of the expertise and passion they bring to their work. Many of our staff hold NVQs in Team Leading, First Aid, and Childcare Management, while our managers have achieved NVQ Level 5 in Childcare Management. What sets us apart, however, is our staff's genuine love for children. We take the time to interview and assess each new team member to ensure they share our values and commitment to providing exceptional care.
Our owners, Gerard and Gisela Gray, have a wealth of experience in childcare, with a deep understanding of the importance of fostering a sense of belonging and security in every child. Our owners' own children have graduated from Little Smarties, and we've had the privilege of watching them grow and thrive.
Our Space
Our nursery comprises several bespoke rooms designed to cater to the unique needs of our young charges. From the baby suite, with its own sleeping room and separate milk kitchen, to the Little Explorers and Little Learners rooms, each space is carefully designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and a sense of wonder.
Our Food
At Little Smarties, we believe that food is an investment in a child's health and wellbeing, not just a cost. Our chef prepares three freshly prepared meals a day on the premises, using only the freshest, organic ingredients. Our menus are carefully designed to cater to individual dietary needs and preferences, and we're happy to accommodate special requests.
Our Philosophy
At Little Smarties, we're committed to providing a holistic experience that nurtures a child's physical, emotional, and cognitive development. We believe that by partnering with parents, we can empower children to grow into confident, curious, and compassionate individuals who are equipped to thrive in an ever-changing world.
By offering a range of indoor and outdoor play areas, we encourage children to explore, experiment, and express themselves freely. From art and music to physical education and sensory play, our activities are designed to inspire creativity, foster independence, and develop essential life skills.
Our Success
Our commitment to excellence has earned us a rare achievement: two OUTSTANDING OFSTED awards in our last two inspections. We're proud of our reputation for providing a nurturing environment that celebrates each child's unique qualities and talents.
