Here at Sacred Heart RC Primary School, we are a vibrant and positive Catholic primary school with nursery provision, located in the heart of Rochdale. We take immense pride in our school and the commitment of our staff in ensuring that it is constantly improving as we strive for excellence together.

Our School Ethos

Our school works in close partnership with our parish, particularly as the children prepare for the Sacraments. We believe that Jesus taught us that the greatest commandment of all is to Love God and secondly to Love Each Other, and this underpins all that we do in school. Our children are secure in the knowledge that we welcome their whole family and work together as a team, with the welfare and education of each child at the heart of all we do.

Our Governing Body is very supportive and pro-active, regularly visiting school and providing challenge and support for leaders and evaluating school effectiveness.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to support our children's learning, including:

• A comprehensive curriculum that includes English, Maths, Science, RE, PSHE/RSE, Music, Spanish, Geography, History, Design & Technology, PE, Computing, and Art
• Extracurricular activities such as trips and visits, Caritas in Action, and 11 before 11 Reading/Phonics
• Support for children with Special Educational Needs, including a dedicated SEND Policy and Accessibility Policy and Plan
• A dedicated team of teachers and support staff who are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all children

We are proud to be part of the local community and work closely with our parish, particularly Sacred Heart Church, where our children attend and are warmly welcomed by our active parish community.
