Our History

Blackwells of Cricklade was established in 1916 by the Blackwell family and has since arranged funerals for thousands of families across Wiltshire and the surrounding counties. We opened our premises in Cheney Manor Road to extend our services to Swindon in 1999. Our funeral director, Susi Webber, has lived in Swindon all her life and has worked in the funeral profession since leaving school. She prides herself on maintaining the highest standards of professional, compassionate care and support.

At Blackwells of Cricklade, we are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. We can make a home-call or welcome you to our offices in Thames Lane, Cricklade. We can help you register the death and arrange the funeral, and guide you through the decisions that need to be made. Our team can also help you plan the funeral, including arranging the funeral, cars, payment of fees, administration of charitable donations, funeral notices, orders of service, floral tributes, and bereavement counselling.
