Henleaze Bowling Club is a welcoming and sociable environment for bowlers of all ages and experiences. Whether you are a seasoned player or a novice, you will find a home at our club. We offer a range of competitive and friendly matches, as well as a thriving social atmosphere.
If you are new to the area and an experienced bowler, we invite you to come up for a roll-up and see our facilities. You can talk to our members and see what we have to offer. If you are new to the game, we offer "taster" sessions to help you get started. Our qualified coaches are available to assist and direct your development, and we have a great social atmosphere and a good green.
The Club
Henleaze Bowling Club has been in existence since 1928 and has a full fixture list of Men's, Ladies' and mixed matches. We run two Men's League teams in the Bristol and District League and three Ladies' teams in the Bristol Ladies League. We are able to accommodate a membership of 95 men and 50 ladies, and we run a number of internal club competitions and an internal triples league.
We also run an Annual Open Gala Day for mixed fours from any club. We have three Level 2 certified Bowls England coaches within the membership who run regular coaching evenings for beginners and improvers, and are available for individual coaching sessions on request. Anyone interested in taking up the game, or experienced bowlers looking for a new club should contact the club secretary in the first instance.
