Escape to the Mountains, Reconnect with Nature

About Us

Meelmore Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Established in 2001 by local farmer and landowner Dessie Patterson, the lodge offers a unique blend of accommodation, hospitality, and access to the stunning natural surroundings.

The family-run business started with the charming farmhouse on the property, initially used as a self-catering holiday house. Recognizing the potential for adventure and exploration, the Pattersons added a secure car park, toilets, showers, and a cozy coffee shop, transforming the site into Meelmore Lodge.

Over the years, the lodge grew and evolved. In 2007, the holiday house was renovated and expanded, providing comfortable accommodation options for solo travelers, families, and groups. A dedicated campsite was also established, primarily catering to Duke of Edinburgh participants, but gradually welcoming families as well.
