Our company has a rich history dating back to 1996. Our Expertise in Tool Design
At Datum Tool Design Ltd, we specialise in the design and development of tooling for composite parts, including:
- Tooling for composite structures such as wings, fuselage sections, and control surfaces
- Assembly fixtures and ICY fixtures for trim and drill operations
- Trimming and drilling tools for both manual and automated operations
- Advanced moulding of composite parts using Resin Transfer Moulding, Resin Transfer Infusion, and Same Qualified Resin Transfer Moulding

Our customer base is extensive and diverse, with clients that include Airbus, Bombardier, Boeing, Dassault, Embraer, HAL, and Aston Martin, amongst others. We work closely with our clients to understand their specific needs and develop customised solutions that meet their exact requirements.
Our Projects
We have been involved in numerous high-profile projects over the years, including the development of tooling for the A380, CRJ1000, A400, B787, A320/A330, B747-800, and HAL, as well as working on the development of tooling for Aston Martin's composite door frames and boot frame.
Our Achievements
We have received support from Invest NI Selective Financial Assistance and an Invest NI grant for Research and Development in support of our investment, growth, and innovation plans. These projects are financed by the Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme for Northern Ireland 2014-2020 and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
