Our Services

As a Structural and Civil Engineering consultancy, we offer a range of services to our clients. Our team has extensive experience in 3D modelling and BIM, and we have specialist knowledge in designing in precast concrete, aluminium curtain walling, and offsite construction. We are ISO 9001 Certified and registered Certifiers of Design on the SER scheme used in Scotland.

Our services include:

• Structural Engineering: We provide a full range of structural engineering services, including the design of steel, masonry, timber, and reinforced concrete structures. Our team includes Chartered Structural Engineers who can certify designs through the Structural Engineers Registration Ltd (SER Scheme).
• Civil Engineering: Our dedicated Civils team provides a full range of Civils design services, including storm and foul/roadways and car parks/SuDs. We have extensive experience in designing all aspects of Civils schemes.
• Commercial and Historic Buildings: We have extensive experience in the design and refurbishment of commercial and historic buildings, ensuring that we maintain the integrity of the existing structure while providing a cost-effective and practical solution.
• Hotels and Leisure: Our team has worked on a range of hotel and leisure projects, including the design of swimming pools, leisure centres, and hotels.
• Public and Residential: We provide a full range of engineering services for public and residential projects, including the design of schools, hospitals, and residential developments.
• Special Structures: We have experience in the design of special structures, including bridges, stadia, and other complex structures.

Our Team

MCR Consulting Engineers is run by four directors who oversee all projects, ensuring that we maintain a high level of care and attention to detail. Our team includes Chartered Structural Engineers, dedicated Civils engineers, and experienced support staff. We have a strong commitment to training, ensuring that we keep abreast of developments in technology and software, and all our designs meet current standards and are cost-effective.

Our Story

Before setting up MCR Consulting, the directors had worked in consultancies of varying sizes and had often discussed what we felt was the ideal setup for a Structural/Civil Engineering consultancy. MCR Consulting was established in 2005, with offices in Belfast and Derry, to provide the company we envisaged. Since then, we have set about becoming the consultancy that we discussed, and the feedback we have received from our clients has suggested that we are continuing to move in the right direction.

Our Success

We have taken several steps along the way to ensure our success, including opening our Derry office in 2005, placing a priority on training, employing dedicated Civil Engineering staff, developing an expertise in 3D modelling and BIM, attaining ISO 9001 registration in 2019, and providing a "user-friendly service" to ensure that all our clients know that we have worked to help them achieve their vision for their project.
