Believe and Achieve Together
Our School's Story
At St Mary's Church of England Primary School, Hawkshaw, we are proud to be a small school in the beautiful village of Hawkshaw. Our school is built on a strong Christian ethos, and our motto "Believe and Achieve Together" reflects our commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. We believe that every child is unique and valued, and we strive to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can flourish.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to be inclusive and engaging, with a focus on developing the whole child. We follow a two-year rolling plan, which provides a comprehensive and structured approach to learning. Our curriculum is divided into core subjects such as English, Maths, Science, and Humanities, as well as creative subjects like Art, Music, and Design Technology. We also place a strong emphasis on Physical Education and Personal, Social, and Health Education.
Class Structure
Our classes are structured to provide a balance of individualised learning, group work, and whole-class teaching. Our experienced teachers and support staff work together to provide a supportive and stimulating learning environment. We also offer a range of extracurricular activities and clubs to foster children's interests and talents.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Our extracurricular activities are designed to provide additional opportunities for children to develop new skills and interests. Our activities include sports teams, music groups, and creative clubs, which are led by our experienced staff and external tutors. These activities provide a wonderful way for children to develop new friendships and build their confidence.
Our Community
At St Mary's, we believe that our school is part of a wider community. We work closely with local churches, community groups, and other local schools to provide support and opportunities for children and families. We are proud to be part of the Hawkshaw community and strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our pupils and their families.
