Yewfield is a peaceful and friendly retreat located in the heart of the English Lake District, an area of rare natural beauty that has inspired many famous poets and artists. Our guest house offers stylish rooms, stunning views, and a peaceful ambience, which has earned us a VisitEngland 5 Star Rating from 2015 to 2023. We were also awarded the ROSE 2017 by Visit England.
Why Stay with Us
Yewfield is the perfect base for exploring the stunning national park, with its many opportunities for walking, hiking, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Our peaceful grounds offer lovely walks, and our log fire lounge is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good book. We also have a peaceful garden where you can unwind and take in the stunning views.
Our Services
We offer both bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation. Our bed and breakfast package includes a continental vegetarian buffet from 8:00 am until 9:30 am, followed by a full cooked vegetarian or vegan breakfast. Our self-catering apartments are available throughout the year and offer all the amenities you need to feel at home.
Dinner at Yewfield
We also offer dinner on most Fridays and Saturdays at 30.00 per person per night, with gluten-free and vegan options available. Our dinner menu includes dishes such as baked polenta and olive tapenade, pecan, courgette, and mushroom roast en croute, and lasagna with puy lentils, Mediterranean vegetables, and Italian tomato.
Mid-Week Offer
We currently have a mid-week offer available until March 2025 for any three nights from Sunday to Friday, including three nights' B&B plus two 2-course dinners at either Zeffirellis or Fellinis for two. The cost is 465.00 for a standard room, 495.00 for a superior room, and 540.00 for a suite.

Gardeners' Blog
Our gardener, Gary Primrose, who manages the woodlands around Yewfield, features in a Cumbria Woodlands case study on managing the plantation and explains the long-term goal of setting up a wood fuel cycle for the house, providing chip and firewood, while converting the woodland from coniferous forest to deciduous woodland.
