Welcoming Guests since 1775 - Where Every Day Feels Like a Discovery
We are a traditional country pub located in the heart of the North Pennines, dating back to 1775. Our pub is renowned for its fine food, range of ales, and stunning panoramic views. We cater to a wide range of customers, from locals to tourists, and strive to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Our Story
The Carts Bog Inn has a rich history, and its name is believed to have originated from the carts carrying minerals from the Alston Lead and Silver mines getting stuck in local bogs. To provide warmth and a hearty meal to these drivers, our coaching inn was established. Today, we continue to maintain this heritage while offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere to all our guests.
