Empowering young minds for a brighter tomorrow, today.

Welcome to Claregate Primary School, a welcoming and caring environment where our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. As a good school, according to Ofsted, we pride ourselves on providing a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures the minds, bodies, and spirits of our students. Our school is committed to preparing our pupils to become good citizens of the future, and we achieve this by teaching them important values such as British values, diversity, and how to celebrate these differences. We also place great emphasis on raising awareness of radicalisation and extremist views, and we work closely with the government's Prevent Strategy to ensure our pupils are well-equipped to navigate these complex issues.

At Claregate Primary School, we believe that education is not just about academic achievement, but also about personal growth and development. Our dedicated and experienced staff work closely with our pupils to ensure they receive the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential. We offer a wide range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, and physical education, as well as additional support for pupils who may need it, such as special educational needs and English as an additional language.

Our school has a strong sense of community, and we believe that parental involvement is crucial to our success. We actively encourage parents to get involved in their child's education, whether it's through volunteering in the classroom, attending school events, or simply being available to talk to their child about their day. We also have a number of policies in place to support our pupils and their families, including our pupil premium, which aims to help disadvantaged pupils access the same opportunities as their peers.

Curriculum

At Claregate Primary School, we believe that our curriculum is the foundation of our education. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, and physical education. We also offer additional support for pupils who may need it, such as special educational needs and English as an additional language. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all our pupils, regardless of their background or ability, and we believe that it plays a crucial role in preparing them for their future.

Assessment and Reporting

At Claregate Primary School, we believe that assessment and reporting are important tools for monitoring pupil progress and achieving set targets. We use a variety of methods to assess our pupils, including written tests, classwork, and project work. We also report to parents termly, providing them with regular updates on their child's progress and highlighting areas where they need additional support. We believe that open communication is key to our success, and we encourage parents to get involved in their child's education by attending parent-teacher conferences and asking questions about their child's progress.

SEN and EAL Support

At Claregate Primary School, we believe that all pupils deserve equal access to education, regardless of their background or ability. We offer a range of support services for pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and for those who are learning English as an additional language (EAL). Our SEN and EAL support includes individualised learning plans, regular progress monitoring, and additional resources and equipment. We believe that our SEN and EAL support plays a crucial role in helping our pupils reach their full potential and achieve their goals.

Governance and Leadership

At Claregate Primary School, we believe that good governance and leadership are essential for a school's success. Our governors are a group of dedicated and experienced individuals who work closely with our headteacher and senior leadership team to make strategic decisions about the school. Our headteacher, Mr M J Murphy, is responsible for leading the school and implementing our vision and values. We also have a number of deputy headteachers and assistant headteachers who support our headteacher in their role. Our governors and senior leadership team work closely together to ensure that our school is well-led and well-governed.

School Life

At Claregate Primary School, we believe that school life is just as important as the curriculum and assessment. We believe that our pupils should feel happy, safe, and supported, and we do our best to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Our school has a number of extracurricular activities, including sports teams, music groups, and club activities, which are designed to help our pupils develop new skills and make friends. We also have a number of events and performances throughout the year, including concerts, plays, and sports tournaments, which are designed to showcase our pupils' talents and achievements.
