Empowering Young Minds to Shine

We believe that everyone is unique and valued by God, and our mission is to provide an outstanding education that enables our pupils to reach their full potential. Our Services
At St John's, we offer a wide range of services and facilities to support the academic, social and emotional development of our pupils. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, challenging and relevant to the needs of our pupils, and we place a strong emphasis on personalised learning, pastoral care and spiritual development. We also offer a range of extracurricular activities and clubs to help our pupils develop new skills, make new friends and have fun.
Learning
Our learning curriculum is designed to be flexible and inclusive, and we offer a range of different options to cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our pupils. Our curriculum is also designed to be cross-curricular, with links between different subjects and themes to promote a more holistic understanding of the world. We place a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy and core subjects, while also providing opportunities for pupils to develop their skills and interests in art, music, drama, physical education and other areas.
Assessment and Evaluation
We use a range of assessment and evaluation methods to monitor pupil progress and attainment, and to ensure that our curriculum is meeting the needs of our pupils. These methods include observation, recording and reporting, testing and quizzes, and regular feedback and assessment. We also use pupil self-assessment and peer-assessment to help pupils develop their skills and reflect on their learning.
Pupil Premium and Catch Up Premium
We are committed to providing the best possible education for all of our pupils, regardless of their background or abilities. To achieve this, we offer a range of provision and support for pupils who are eligible for pupil premium or catch up premium. This includes additional tutoring, mentoring and resources, as well as targeted interventions to support literacy, numeracy and other areas of difficulty.
Inclusion and Gifted and Talented
We believe that every pupil has the right to a high-quality education, and we offer a range of provision and support to help pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to access the curriculum. We also have a range of provision and support for gifted and talented pupils, including opportunities for extension, stretch and challenge.
Computing and Online Safety
We have a range of state-of-the-art computing facilities and resources, and we offer a range of computing lessons and activities to help pupils develop their skills and knowledge in this area. We are also committed to keeping our pupils safe online, and we provide a range of training and support to help them to develop their e-safety skills and to stay safe in the digital world.
