Disappointing Experience
Lily-Mai Lawson, a former student, shared her mixed feelings about her time at the school. She mentioned that some teachers were enjoyable, and the projects were fun. However, the school's policy of mandatory prayer three times a day made her uncomfortable, given her lack of religious affiliation.
The absence of support and accommodations for students with special needs, particularly her own autism diagnosis, was a significant issue. Despite her mother repeatedly informing the school of her needs, there was a lack of efforts to provide assistance. As a result, Lily-Mai felt struggling to make friends and keep up with her peers, ultimately falling behind by the time she reached high school.
Unmet Needs and Lack of Support
Ambivalence
Lily-Mai's review highlights the importance of accommodating students' unique needs and providing a supportive environment. Her experience serves as a cautionary tale for schools to prioritize inclusivity and take proactive measures to ensure all students have equal opportunities to succeed.
