Hazelbank Hotel is a beloved institution in St Andrews, Scotland, offering bespoke hospitality to guests from around the world. Our hotel has a rich history dating back to 1898, when it was built as a private residence for a tea planter retiring from India. Over the years, we have hosted visitors from virtually every country in the world, including famous golfers and notable figures.

Our Heritage

Hazelbank Hotel is situated in a perfect location, overlooking the sea on The Scores in St Andrews. We are just 200 metres from the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, Old Course first tee, and University Admissions, Library and Arts faculty. Our small 10-bedroomed townhouse property is nestled within the St Andrews Conservation Area, which has been owned and managed by the same family for over 30 years.

Our Accommodation

All of our original decorative plasterwork and the impressive timber staircase have been retained, showcasing the best of the building's Victorian heritage. We offer 10 warm, all non-smoking, comfortable, and richly decorated bedrooms, each with full modern en-suite bathrooms. Each room features direct dial telephone, flat-screen television, and a hospitality tray for tea and coffee. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all bedrooms and public areas.

Room Types

We offer a range of room types to suit our guests' needs. Our Double rooms feature a zip link King (6ft wide x 6ft 3in long) bed, while our Twin rooms have two beds, each 3ft wide. Family rooms have zip link king bed or Twin Beds plus sofa beds. Our Small double rooms have a queen bed (6ft 3in x 4ft 6in), and our Single rooms feature a queen bed (6ft 3in x 4ft 6in) for single guests.

Dining and Drinks

We serve substantial breakfasts in our bay-windowed dining room on the ground floor, and we also offer room service for our resident guests. Just next door, we have excellent drinking and dining facilities at the Russell Hotel. You'll also find a plethora of other food and drink outlets within a short walk of our hotel.

St Andrews is renowned for its golf courses, and we are ideally located for golf enthusiasts. We offer special packages and discounts for golfers, and our staff are happy to assist with booking tee times and arranging golfing activities. If you're not a golfer, you'll still find plenty of ways to enjoy your stay in St Andrews.
