Providing Outstanding Childcare in Wimbledon for Over 40 Years
At Crown Kindergartens, we have been providing high-quality childcare and pre-school education for over 40 years. Our nursery is a private, family-run business, and we take great pride in our open-plan, homely environment that fosters a sense of community and belonging among our children and staff. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating in all areas from Ofsted, the UK's education and childcare regulator.
Our Services
At Crown Kindergartens, we believe that children learn best through play, so we provide an all-inclusive service that includes all meals, snacks, nappies, and enrichment activities. Our nursery is fully inclusive, meaning that there are no extra charges for these services. We also offer voluntary theatre trips at a discounted rate, which are designed to broaden our children's experiences and expose them to new activities and interests.
Learning and Development
Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which is designed to help children develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. We believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences, so we provide a range of activities and resources that encourage exploration, discovery, and creativity. Our experienced and qualified staff are always on hand to support and guide our children as they learn and develop.
Our Team
Our nursery team is highly qualified and experienced in childcare and teaching. We take great care in recruiting and retaining our staff, many of whom have been with us for many years. Our staff are fully trained in Paediatric First Aid and hold the appropriate childcare qualifications. Our management team is led by Donna Muggeridge, who has over 10 years of experience in childcare and holds a Foundation Degree in Early Years Childcare & Education and a BA in Early Childhood Studies.
Our Garden
Our garden is a real showstopper! Covering an impressive one-fifth of an acre, it provides a safe and secure environment for our children to explore and play all year round. From dinosaur diggers to water play, we offer a range of interactive and engaging activities that encourage our children to learn and develop through play.
Our Facilities
Our nursery is conveniently located in Wimbledon, southwest London, and is easily accessible by public transport. Our nursery has undergone significant renovations in recent years, and we are proud to offer a state-of-the-art facility that is fully equipped to meet the needs of our children. Our nursery is fully nut-free, and we have a dedicated chef who provides healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for our children.
Our Commitment
At Crown Kindergartens, we are committed to providing an outstanding service that meets the highest standards of childcare and education. We believe that every child is unique and special, and we strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment that helps our children grow and develop into confident and capable individuals.
Staff and Environment

Learning and Development
Many parents have been impressed by the range of activities and learning opportunities provided by Crown Kindergartens. Children have been encouraged to develop their skills in areas such as reading and counting, and have been able to explore their interests through play.
Communication and Trust
However, some parents have raised concerns about communication and trust issues. Some have felt that the nursery has not been welcoming to parents, and has not made sufficient efforts to build trust with families. There have also been issues with inaccurate record-keeping and poor communication.
Negative Experiences
Unfortunately, some parents have had negative experiences with Crown Kindergartens. One parent described their child's experience as "traumatic", citing an old-fashioned approach to childcare and a lack of concern for the child's well-being. Another parent felt that the nursery had not done enough to support their child's settling-in process, and had poor communication.
