precision engineering expertise, from design to delivery
We are a leading precision engineering company, offering a one-stop-shop for design, precision tool making, and injection moulding services. With our headquarters based in Northamptonshire and a second manufacturing site in Leicestershire, we are centrally located in the UK, making it easy for our customers to visit and work with us.
Our Expertise
With a history spanning almost 50 years, we have developed a reputation for providing high-quality services and products. Our team of expert engineers and technicians has extensive experience in design, prototyping, precision tool making, injection moulding, and assembly. We pride ourselves on our ability to work closely with our customers to understand their specific needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Design and Prototyping
Our in-house design team uses the latest CAD software to create precise designs and prototypes. We use 4D printing and silicone vacuum casting to create precise replicas of our customers' products. We can also work with existing CAD models and optimize them for production.
Tool Making and Injection Moulding
Our state-of-the-art tool making facilities are equipped with the latest technology, including EDM sparkers, wire erosion machinery, CNC high-speed milling centers, grinders, lathes, and milling stations. We can manage multiple tooling suites in-house and fully optimize each tool on our moulding presses. Our tool making capabilities include single to high cavitation, in P20 tool steel, H13 hardened, and aluminum. We also offer expertise in insert and over-moulding, composite/multi-material, stack tools, and 2K (twin shot) tools.
Injection Moulding and Assembly
We can injection mould components ranging from 0.0005g to 1.0 kg in weight, including vertical press type for insert and over-moulding. We offer low volume quantities (10pcs) to high volume supply (millions) and utilize automation/robot handling systems to minimize costs and maximize utilization at each site. Our in-house post-mould operations include sonic welding, pressure testing, soldering, and wire stripping, pad printing (multi-color), industrial sewing, fabrication/hot forming, hot foiling, and stand-alone assembly/kitting of products.
Specialist Markets
We serve a wide range of industries, including (but not limited to):
Motorcycles
Domestic Appliances/White Goods
Building and Construction
Medical and Healthcare

Management and Staff Issues
Several reviewers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the management and staff at The Tool Shop. Lack of support and poor customer service are common complaints. Lawlesslambs and Linda Woodhouse both gave 1-star reviews, stating that the shop is not worth patronizing. Lawlesslambs specifically mentioned that the manufacturing side is "non-existent", while Linda Woodhouse felt that the shop was a place where non-Polish employees were treated poorly, with English employees being dismissed arbitrarily.
Mixed Experience
Przemyslaw Mlodzikowski, on the other hand, had a surprisingly positive experience, giving the shop 5 stars. However, his review was somewhat ambiguous, stating that if one doesn't want to work, it would be bad everywhere.
