Discover the story of British Army Flying
Welcome to the Army Flying Museum, situated in the heart of Middle Wallop, Hampshire. Our museum is a charitable organization that is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of British Army aviation. With a collection that spans over 100 years, we have a vast array of exhibits that are sure to captivate visitors of all ages. Our collection includes over 35 fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, all of which are displayed in a logical order and accompanied by thoughtfully designed displays.
Our opening times are from 09:00 to 16:00hrs, seven days a week, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and the 27th of December. The Apache Cafe is open daily from 09:00 to 15:30hrs, serving a variety of food and beverages at reasonable prices. We have ample parking facilities available for our visitors.
Our collections chart the progression of British Army aviation from its inception in 1878 to the present day. Our displays cover the five main branches of Army aviation: the Royal Engineers, the Royal Flying Corps, the Glider Pilot Regiment, Air Observation Post Squadrons, and the Army Air Corps. Our exhibits include a diverse range of aircraft, such as the Beaver AL Mk.1, the Auster AOP Mk.9, the Islander AL Mk.1, and many more.
As a charity, we rely heavily on the support of our visitors and donors. By supporting us, you help us care for and display our collections, and inspire visitors of all ages to build an understanding of flight, war, conflict, and how these events shape our world. Your support also helps us secure the heritage of British Army flying.
We run a regular program of events throughout the year, catering to all interests and age groups. Our events include talks, workshops, and family-friendly activities. Some of our upcoming events include Wallop Wheels & Wings 2024 and the May Half Term Family Fun. We invite you to view all of our events and book tickets in advance.
In addition to our events, we also offer educational resources for schools and colleges. Our resources include home learning resources, the Jon Egging Trust outreach program, online lectures, and support for school bookings. We are dedicated to providing engaging and informative learning opportunities for students of all ages.
We are proud to offer group visits to our museum, and we encourage you to book in advance. Our group visits are tailored to meet the needs of your group, and we offer guided tours and interactive workshops.
