Located in the heart of Hungerford, our esteemed barbershop has been a mainstay in the community since 1988, formerly known as The Gentleman's Barber Shop. In 2015, the shop underwent new ownership and was rebranded as Gentleman's Barbers of Hungerford, bringing forth a fresh and innovative approach to gentlemen's grooming. Our dedicated team of skilled barbers has cultivated an outstanding reputation both locally and further afield, earning us the distinction of being official stockists for brands such as Geo F Trumper, Truefitt & Hill, and Taylor of Old Bond Street.
Meet the Team
Our accomplished barber crew comprises five master barbers, each possessing a wealth of experience in the art of men's grooming.
*Billy Franklin, Managing Director:* Born and raised in Hungerford, Billy started his barbering journey in the family salon in Marlborough before eventually joining The Gentleman's Shop in 1996. Serving as Manager for 19 years, Billy took over the business in 2015 and has been at the helm ever since.
*Diane Puffett, Master Barber:* Originally from Aldbourne but now residing in Marlborough, Diane embarked on her hairdressing career in 1984. After working in local salons and as a self-employed hairdresser, she joined our team in 2007, bringing with her an unparalleled commitment to her craft.
*Louise Clayden, Master Barber:* With 23 years of experience in the Wantage barber shop, Louise relocated to Chilton Foliat with her fiance Roy in 2009. Passionate about travel and the great outdoors, she found her home with us and has been a cherished member of our team ever since.
*Denise Sawyer, Master Barber:* A seasoned barber with 34 years of experience, Denise started her career in Hungerford working for Robert Johnston. Over the years, she has honed her skills and earned a reputation for her meticulous attention to detail.
*Claire Hammond, Barber:* Although new to the barbering world, Claire quickly discovered her passion for the art of men's grooming. Caring for a wide array of clients, she finds joy in both the creative and social aspects of her profession.
