Our Story

Wight Productions, an Isle of Wight based company, has been at the forefront of the local film production and photography scene for over a decade. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality services, Wight Productions has established itself as the go-to company for businesses, events, branding, and promotions on the Isle of Wight. The company's reputation has since spread far and wide, with clients now based not only on the mainland but across the globe. Some of the company's recent high-profile clients include Lego, Ferrari, Harrods, Blackberry, and Triumph.

About Michael

Michael, the founder of Wight Productions, remains heavily involved in all projects. With a passion for film production and photography that began in his childhood, Michael honed his skills by attending a number of film production and photography courses and studying film studies at A-Level. He went on to study photography and film at Bournemouth Art Institute, where he gained valuable experience working for small production companies throughout the South Coast, as well as the BBC and Momentum Pictures.

After university, Michael returned to the Isle of Wight and set up Wight Productions in response to a clear need and gap in the market for a local production company that could offer high-quality videos to both businesses and individuals. Over the years, Wight Productions has grown to become a leading media producer on the Isle of Wight, producing films for exhibition and conferences at the NEC and Excel, as well as creating promotional films for well-known clients such as Sunseeker, Martin Baker, and Aston Martin. Michael has also lectured at the Isle of Wight College and runs training programmes for the next generation of creatives.

Qualifications

Michael holds a degree in Film Production from Bournemouth Art Institute, a PGCE from the University of Southampton, and a Drone Licence from the CAA & PfCO. He also holds a DBS Certificate and is fully insured, including professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Meet Our Team

Our team of creatives is what makes Wight Productions great. Simon, with over 30 years of experience in video production, is our lead camera operator. He has worked for TV12 and Solent TV, as well as many of the largest AV companies across the UK. Simon is adept at using any camera we throw at him and is always on hand to problem-solve any issues that arise.

Tom, our newest team member, recently graduated from Bristol University's highly regarded 'Screenology Film School'. He is an accomplished cinematographer and editor with a passion for documentary films. Tom is used to working under pressure and is an invaluable member of our team.
