Learn to Drive with Confidence - A Safe Driver for Life!
At NDT, we believe that learning to drive should be a fun and enjoyable experience. However, we also understand that it's a serious business, and at the end of the day, you need to be confident with the skills and knowledge to be a safe driver for life. Our aim is to provide you with a safe, enjoyable learning environment to learn to drive as efficiently as possible, offering you good value but high-quality tuition.
Our Approach
We don't just teach you to pass the test; we teach you to drive. Our driving school is dedicated to providing a personal but professional experience to our customers, which the big driving schools often struggle to achieve. Our mission is to provide value for money while delivering quality driving lessons.
Our Instructor
Nicks Driver Training was set up by driving instructor Nick Long in 2001. Nick is a fully qualified, high-grade instructor who works to the terms set out by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the Driving Instructors Association (DIA), and the Motor Schools Association (MSA). Nick also holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
Our Services
We offer tuition in both Manual and Automatic cars, giving you the flexibility to choose the type of vehicle that suits you best. Our driving school covers a wide area, including the towns of Dereham, Fakenham, Watton, Swaffham, and Holt, as well as the surrounding villages. We use the test centres of Kings Lynn and Norwich.
What to Expect
Before you start your driving lessons, you'll need to apply for a provisional driving license. You can do this online at www.gov.uk and follow the links headed "Driving and Transport" and then "Driving Licences". Alternatively, application packs are available from the post office. Once you have a valid provisional licence, you'll need to decide whether you want to learn to drive a manual or automatic car. If you're unsure, you can try a lesson in both types of vehicles to see which one suits you best.
Finding the Right Instructor
When searching for a driving instructor, recommendation is key. However, if you're finding us through other means, please be aware that some driving schools use trainee instructors who are trying to gain experience before taking their final qualifying exam. Make sure to ask to see the instructor's badge, which should be displayed in their car with their photo ID on it. A qualified instructor's badge is green with an octagon shape, while a trainee badge is pink with a triangle.
Proving Your Entitlement to Drive
Changes to driving licences in 2015 mean that the old paper part of your licence is no longer issued, and any endorsements, penalty points, and driving bans are now only accessible online. Before your first lesson, we'll ask you to generate a "check code" which will allow your instructor to check your licence details online.
Why Choose Us
At NDT, we pride ourselves on being professional, patient, and friendly. We're committed to providing value for money while delivering high-quality driving lessons. With our expertise and guidance, you'll be well on your way to becoming a confident and safe driver.
