DS Building Contractors is a family-run business that has been thriving in the building industry since 1989. Based in South Cheshire and North Shropshire, we take great pride in our exceptional craftsmanship, client satisfaction, and a friendly and professional service. Our expertise lies in providing a high-class building service, specialising in home extensions, barn conversions, new builds, listed buildings, conversions, alterations and improvements, groundworks, and landscaping.

Our Story

Our founder, Dave Sherwin, was inspired by his grandfather, father, and stepfather, who were all tradesmen, to follow his passion into the building trade. At the age of 18, Dave became self-employed and worked tirelessly to perfect his skills in bricklaying, joinery, roofing, plastering, kitchens, bathrooms, and groundwork's, enabling his business to offer a full high-class building service. Over the years, we have built an extensive client base, with 90% of our projects coming from recommendations. Our clients value our excellent craftsmanship and appreciate the importance of communication, working closely with them and providing regular updates on the day-to-day schedule of works and project progress.

Meet the Team

The DS Building Contractors team consists of experienced professionals who are passionate about their work. Dave Sherwin, our Director, is fully qualified in all areas of building. Andrew Lofkin is a qualified bricklayer and general building specialist, while Bradley Eardley is a qualified bricklayer and digger, specialising in groundwork's. Andrew Hatchard Liddle is an apprentice bricklayer and labourer. We work effectively and efficiently, ensuring minimum disruption to our clients.

Recent Projects

We have recently completed a full renovation scheme to a redundant cottage, which included a large double-storey extension at the rear, new windows and doors, internal alterations, a new fitted kitchen, bathroom, feature fireplace, underfloor heating, and ceramic tiling. We also completed a double-storey side extension, with a garage extending the kitchen, and returned two years later to remove an old UPVC conservatory and replace it with a feature sunroom with bi-fold doors and a new driveway in a feature block paving. Our latest project was a full barn conversion from start to completion.
