Ballater Cottages

We invite you to stay in our beautiful self-catering cottage, Arisaig, nestled in the charming village of Ballater in the heart of Royal Deeside. Arisaig Cottage is an architect-designed property that has been recently refurbished to a high standard, providing comfortable and spacious accommodation for families or groups of friends who enjoy the outdoors or seek a peaceful retreat in the stunning countryside.

Arisaig Cottage is located less than a 9-iron shot away from the first tee of Ballater Golf Course, Tennis Courts, and Putting Green, and includes off-street parking. The cottage is set within a lovely walled garden, offering privacy and tranquillity, and is only a short 5-minute walk from the village centre.

The Cottage

Arisaig Cottage is a most attractive architect-designed self-catering cottage that has been recently upgraded to a very high standard. The property is situated in a delightful mature walled garden and offers comfortable, spacious accommodation just five minutes from the centre of the village. The interior is light, bright, and airy, featuring a large well-equipped open-plan kitchen/dining/living area with a wood-burning stove and patio doors leading to the garden. The master bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite shower room, while the second bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom features a shower above the bath.

Comfort & Utility

The property is insulated to a high standard, and heating is included in the weekly cost. Linen and towels are provided, and internet access is available. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, and freezer. The cottage is not pet-friendly, but we do accept one dog at the Auld Manse.

Secluded & Private

Arisaig Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the many places of interest in the local area, including castles, gardens, distilleries, golf courses, and a variety of restaurants. The cottage is situated close to the first tee of Ballater Golf Course, tennis courts, putting and bowling greens, and is only a short walk from the village centre. The cottage is available for rent from 580 to 750 per week.

Ballater

Ballater is a charming village set on the banks of the River Dee amidst the glorious scenery of the Cairngorms National Park. Take the Whisky Trail or the Castle trail to visit the many points of interest locally. Enjoy a game of golf at the local course or a game of tennis. Or maybe you want to take in your surroundings and enjoy the various walks in and around the countryside.

The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are a focal point of the Scottish landscape and contain so much for one to do at any time of the year. Whether you are a hillwalker, dogwalker, mountaineer, birdwatcher, or an all-round adventurer, these mountains offer so much to so many different types of people. Scotland's winter sports industry is concentrated in the Cairngorms.

Balmoral Castle

Balmoral Castle is one of the many residences of the Royal Family since 1852 and is a beautiful building against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery. Rumoured to have been a mere hunting lodge owned by King Robert the II between 1316-90, the land has passed through many high-profile owners. The Castle is open to the public for a part of the year and the off-road Landrover Safaris are highly recommended.

The Whisky Trail

Follow the Whisky Trail from Royal Lochnagar Distillery and discover the rich history of whisky production in the region. The trail takes you through some of the most scenic landscapes in Scotland, and you'll have the opportunity to taste some of the finest whiskies in the world.
