Review: AT Cars advertised a Fiat for 900 on the AA website. We decided to make an offer of 700 and they practically bit-off my hand. The Fiat advertised with 12 months MOT and 12 months breakdown cover. We paid 100 deposit and waited and waited and waited. AT Cars stated there was queue at the MOT garage and one week later the vehicle, which according to AT Cars, had no advisories as delivered.
They insisted on bringing the car at night time. In an instant this vehicle was seen as scrap, it was leaking fuel and dirty. David got very aggressive when we asked for the log-book and the 12 months breakdown cover. He left and then came back making an excuse of having left something in the car. We did state we were going to ask ATS of Nottingham to look at the car and this is when they demanded that we give the Fiat back to them. Angelo phoned me up and was very aggressive, making all manner of threats. David even insisted that we pay for a taxi for him to go home!
We were getting worried about the road worthiness of the vehicle and we are positive the MOT has been rubber-stamped because there are severe welding issues with the car which both Angelo and David tried to play down. So we got legal advice and we have 6 months warranty under the consumer act and because we had not previously viewed the car we were entitled to return it.
In the meantime, we had already filled out the tiny green slip (it is all we had because AT Cars would not let us on the V5 log book). So we asked AT Cars to collect the vehicle that very evening and they refused, so the following day was agreed at 2pm. The agreement was that we would receive the entire 700 as a refund paid by bank transfer (in the same way we paid AT cars the previous day). David came to collect the car and demanded the keys and paperwork and we said that was fine and it would be done once our 700 was refunded.
We gave them the account details and then we waited and waited and waited. David began to abuse us on our own door step so we had to call the police. This was another ploy on their part to avoid paying the refund. The day before Angelo made all manner of threats to avoid paying the refund. Because of the threats we had to call the police because David refused to leave the property.
It took circa 3 hours before AT Cars paid the refund, after which we handed over the keys and all the paperwork. We thought that was an end to it and would never recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from this Company. Both David and Angelo are highly ill-educated, aggressive, they can barely read or write in English, but they do run their mouth A LOT!
Then we got more messages asking for the green slip even though we had already confirmed that this was posted to DVLA. AT Cars then called the police, who do not involve themselves in civil matter and told AT cars this, however, they (AT cars) made up all manner of lies, so we had a chat with the police and they confirmed AT Cars are annoyed because they had to repay the 700.
The matter was closed. However, the following day AT cars sent another message about the green slip (this is the manner of the low level of mentality), we again reminded them of the previous day, but that didn't stop them from issuing more threats against us. We had to remind them that the police will bring charges against them for wasting their time.
We were utterly fed-up with their aggressive attitude, simply mindedness, total lack of any professionalism or manners. It turns out that A T cars had driven the Fiat from Skegness on trade plates, not registered the car in their Company's name, so, to date, still registered in the name of the little old lady they ripped-off in Skegness. This is the reason they didn't give us the V5 log book.
The car is unfit for the road and should not be sold on unless all the welding repairs and done by a reputable company and guaranteed. Or better still the car should be scrapped, it is beyond economic repair.

Review: El Jay "A warranty where the mechanic refuses to fix major mechanical faults." Kelly Warrington 1 review 4 months ago Evidently aren't checking cars/servicing them properly before selling them on. Broke down 5 weeks after buying and got a full service when it was in the garage being repaired, was advised that 3 different things were due to be replaced.

Thank you for your hasty and ill-worded reply. The above negative reviews, left by other disgruntled customers confirms our appalling experience. David and Angelo have a very low mentality, ill-educated and aggressive, a poor combination when it comes to running a business. Why did you want the car back after we said we would ask ATS to look at it?
The car was not registered in your Company's name, you are driving it to all manner of places using trade plates. The car is fit for scrap. You called the police because you didn't want to repay the refund -even the police confirmed this. Also, we can prove that we taxed and insured the car. Can you prove the car is roadworthy by allowing a reputable garage to inspect it e.g. ATS?
You need to stop bad-mouthing customers, getting aggressive and also stop telling lies - how old do you have to be to know the difference between right and wrong? We trust you will take this review and try to improve matters, especially trying to rip-off people and then getting aggressive to beat them into submission. Your comments seem to be getting silly, instead of being a responsible business, you are engaging in pettiness.
What difference does my user name make in terms of the review? You are actually complaining about being paid on time and in full - take a moment to think! You used every excuse to avoid paying the refund and even kept us waiting for hours on end! This is the same as my questioning why you asked for the payment in cash instead of a bank transfer, a lesser person would think you are avoiding paying tax! The matter is closed. Any further torment and engaging in slander will lead to prosecution.
