Digital Switchover Notice
Important Information - The Digital Switchover and Your Security System
If you have an existing alarm system connected to a telephone line, it may not send signals to your mobile or monitoring station due to the BT/Openreach digital switchover. This transition involves upgrading the UK's PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) to a digital network that routes calls over Internet Protocol (IP) instead of traditional PSTN lines.
The switch-off date for the PSTN network in the UK has been set for 2025, while BT plans to transition all customers to the new digital network by Spring 2024. As a result, your security system's reliability and effectiveness may be negatively affected if it relies on analogue lines.
