Welcome to the Boars Head, a stunning gastro pub in the heart of Lancashire. Our 16th century building is steeped in history and heritage, and we're proud to offer exceptional service, hearty locally produced food, and a warm welcome to all our guests. Whether you're looking to celebrate a special occasion, enjoy a relaxing meal with friends, or simply unwind with a drink in our traditional pub setting, we've got everything you need to make your visit truly unforgettable.

Our mission, since taking over the reins in 2009, has been to continue the tradition of providing top quality food, drink, and service in a modern yet relaxed setting. We cater for most situations, from celebrations to business lunches, walking parties, intimate dining, family meals, and of course, providing our guests with the facilities to simply enjoy a relaxing drink with friends.

Our Services

Our varied menu and daily specials are prepared in-house using the best local produce. We blend traditional favourites with modern and varied cuisines to provide a great choice for our guests. With all our dishes prepared in-house, we're able to cater for most dietary requirements. We also have a separate bar area serving a good selection of draught beers, lagers, and ciders, along with a comprehensive wine list and an extensive array of spirits and soft drinks. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome in the bar and outside terrace areas.

In addition to our exceptional food and drink, we also offer a stunning outdoor terrace area where you can unwind and enjoy your meal on those warm summer days. And, with our roaring log fire and traditional furnishings, our pub is the perfect setting for that special occasion or simple get-together with friends.

Our History

The Boars Head has timeless appeal and is believed to be one of the final overnight stops of the famous Pendle witches in 1612, before their eventual trials and sentencing at Lancaster. Today, with its original oak beams, roaring log fire, and traditional furnishings, the Boars Head is a truly unique and special place to visit.
