Welcome to Electrical Compliance Testing Ltd, a Milton Keynes-based company specialising in electrical fixed wire testing, PAT testing, emergency light testing, and thermographic surveys. Our team of dedicated and qualified engineers operates nationwide, providing our clients with unparalleled services that comply with the highest industry standards.
Our mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of people, livestock, and property by adhering to the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. We understand the risks posed by electrical systems that are not adequately maintained, and we are committed to providing our clients with comprehensive testing and inspection services that meet their specific needs.
Fixed Wire Testing
Also known as electrical installation condition reporting or period inspection reporting, fixed wire testing is a critical aspect of maintaining a building's electrical systems. Our testing service covers all fixed wiring within a building, including sub-mains, final circuits, and associated electrical equipment. Regular testing ensures that your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act are met, and that your staff, visitors, patients, buildings, and possessions are in satisfactory condition.
The maximum period between inspections depends on the type of installation and is typically 10 years for domestic installations, 5 years for commercial installations, and 3 years for industrial installations. Places of public entertainment, caravan parks, and petrol stations require annual testing.
PAT Testing
PAT testing, or portable appliance testing, is a legal requirement for businesses to ensure the safety of their portable electrical equipment. Our testing service includes an earth bond and insulation resistance test, earth leakage/load test, and visual inspection of each appliance. We test a wide range of appliances, including those with flexible cables and plug tops, and provide comprehensive reports that meet legal requirements.
Good practice is to test portable appliances annually to ensure maximum protection and compliance.
Emergency Light Testing
Our emergency light testing service ensures that your emergency lighting system will function correctly in the event of a power outage or fault. We isolate the emergency lights and test them under fault conditions to ensure they illuminate correctly. Regular testing is essential to maintain the safety and well-being of building occupants and meet legal requirements.
Thermographic Surveys
Thermographic surveys use thermal imaging technology to detect potential issues within electrical systems that may not be visible during a standard inspection. Our team of qualified engineers uses state-of-the-art equipment to detect hotspots and potential faults, allowing for proactive maintenance and repair that can prevent costly downtime and equipment failure.
Our Qualifications
All Electrical Compliance Testing Ltd engineers are qualified to C&G 2391/2377 and IEE Wiring Regulations (17th Edition) qualifications. Our team is dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest industry standards and technology, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service and expertise.
