Welcome to Thomas Wright Accommodation, a family-owned and run business located in the peaceful rural area of Byers Green, County Durham. Our establishment is named after the renowned scientist, artist, and architect Thomas Wright (1711-1786), who was born in this very village. Although a full biography of him has yet to be written, numerous articles and papers highlight the breadth of interest in his scientific work, architectural designs, and garden creations. We are proud to honour his legacy through our exceptional guest house and the services we provide.
Our guest house offers an exquisite selection of luxury rooms, each designed to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. With unspoiled views of the surrounding countryside and only a short drive from Durham City, our location is truly enviable. We invite you to explore our various rooms and see what our Kitchen has to offer, including alfresco dining with a newly renovated garden, roofed terrace with heating, a gazebo with heating, and tables with large parasols. Our dining hours are Friday and Saturday from 12 - 7 and Sunday from 12 - 6, with take-away meals available.
