Our History
Wyllie & Henderson was originally founded by J W Wyllie Esq, a prominent local solicitor with strong ties to the local farming community. In 1929, J T Henderson Esq joined the firm as a Partner, and the firm became J W Wyllie & Henderson. After 103 years of legal practice at Royal Bank Building, 4 Kinnoull Street, Perth, the firm moved to its current location at Market Chambers, Caledonian Road, Perth, in 2006.
The present Partners of the firm are Ian K Lindsay and Angela L Scott, who are supported by a team of qualified support staff, including Law Accountants and Paralegals. With a firmly established history in local legal practice, Wyllie & Henderson looks to the future by retaining its sense of tradition coupled with a modern and forward-looking approach.
Ian Kerr Lindsay, Partner
Ian Lindsay was born in Perth and educated at Perth Academy and The University of Dundee. Ian joined Wyllie & Henderson in 1983 and was assumed as a Partner in 1988. Ian is the senior Partner within the Firm and is involved in all aspects of the Firm's Chamber Practice with an emphasis on commercial work and a special interest in Liquor Licensing. Ian is a past Chairman of Perth Round Table No. 200 and former Clerk to the Congregational Board of St. Leonard's-in-the-Fields and Trinity Church, Perth. Ian is a member of the Society of Advocates, a select body of solicitors in Perth, and a Notary Public.
