Alan V Walker K9 Photography

Alan V Walker is a highly experienced canine photographer who has been capturing professional photographs of dogs since the early 1980s. With over four decades of experience, he is one of the most renowned dog photographers in the UK. Alan's exceptional skills have earned him the prestigious Pawscars photographer of the Year award in 2014 and 2017. He is also a proud member of the World Dog Press Association.

Alan started his career working for Our Dogs in 1985 and has had the privilege of photographing some of the finest and most famous dogs in dogdom. Alan's early work was noted for the quality of his black and white images, which he produced in his own darkroom with the help of his wife, Kath. He transitioned to digital photography in 2003.

Alan's love for dogs goes beyond photography. He has been actively involved in showing Old English Sheepdogs, Miniature Schnauzers, and is currently showing standard Schnauzers. In the early days, Alan was also involved in ringcraft training, has judged OES, and is currently the Chairman of Coventry (Foleshill) C. A. He was contracted by Dog World from 2010 until their demise in 2017, where he had the honour of selling their very last newspaper at Blackpool Championship show.

In 2018, Alan was involved in setting up K9 News Ltd, which produced a glossy magazine and reported on shows online. Although the company did not survive Covid, Alan retired from it in May 2021, and the company closed in March 2022. Alan is now available for private commissions and sittings.

Alan offers private sittings for dogs in a comfortable and convenient environment. He lives alongside Longford Park, which provides a beautiful backdrop for photographs, even in winter. However, Alan is flexible and can accommodate kennel visits where your canine friends can be photographed in the comfort of your own home or grounds. Alan's patience and teamwork approach ensure that he captures the best moments of your dog, creating a memorable and unique photograph.
