Welcome to The Red Lion Inn, a traditional country pub nestled in the serene surroundings of Freshwater, on the picturesque Isle of Wight. We take great pride in being an establishment that has won numerous awards and received kind words from many prestigious visitors' guides to the Isle of Wight, including being named the Isle of Wight Dining Pub of The Year on three separate occasions. Our goal is to provide an authentic, old-world experience that takes you back in time, with a touch of modern comfort and exquisite cuisine.

The Red Lion Inn offers a cosy and inviting atmosphere, adorned with comfortable furnishings, and a log fire that burns peacefully throughout the winter months. The beauty of the Isle of Wight countryside that surrounds the pub is amongst the finest in the country and is an ideal setting for walkers, golfers, and those seeking a tranquil escape.

Our Food & Drink

We take great care to provide good beer and fine wines to accompany the food we prepare from the very best local fish, meat and vegetables. Our wine list is stocked from some of the best vineyards in Europe and the 'new world', all at realistic prices. We believe that the quality of our ingredients is of utmost importance, which is why we have an extensive herb garden to ensure that all ingredients are as fresh as can be. Our pub kitchens are open 7 days a week for both lunch (12 noon to 2:30pm) and dinner (6pm to 8:30pm), and well-behaved dogs are welcome. We serve real ales and local beers and take pride in offering a diverse and carefully curated menu.

on fine days and evenings, we are happy to serve any of the food we offer in the pub garden. At the end of the evening, we will be happy to order you a taxi. To book your table, kindly telephone 01983 754925.
