Come and experience the beauty of Scotland in comfort and style

The Steading at Barmore is a beautiful Victorian steading built around 1839, situated in a picturesque location at the top end of Glenralloch, leading from West Loch Tarbert to Loch Fyne. Our stunning self-catering holiday accommodation is just a 2-minute drive from the charming fishing village of Tarbert, Loch Fyne. The steading has been sympathetically restored to provide a range of comfortable and stylish cottages, each with its individual features and attributes.

Our History

The Steading at Barmore has a rich history, having been the nerve centre of the estate until 1948. After falling into disrepair, it was resurrected in 1986 and restored to its former glory by the current owners. Today, it is a listed building and one of the few complete Scottish farm steadings still in existence.

Our Cottages

Our cottages are refurbished traditional farm steading into beautiful, peaceful retreats. Clustered around a pretty, sheltered courtyard, our six separate properties offer cosy one and two-bedroom cottages with open fire or log burning stove, and each with ensuite facilities. Each cottage has its own unique character, but all share the beautiful surroundings and modern comforts.

Things to Do

The Steading at Barmore is the perfect central hub for exploring the wild glens, peaceful islands, and secluded beaches of the area. Take to the water with Kayak Majik, visit local castles, or simply enjoy the stunning scenery and local food. From Tarbert to Portavadie, and from Kennacraig to Islay and Jura, there's so much to see and do in this beautiful part of Scotland.
