Review: Stayed a long weekend for my 40th, just me and my partner and it was absolute bliss. Relaxing with beautiful walks. Personally, I don't think it's for kids as other than a park there isn't much else for them. I will 100% be going back. Review: Absolutely blown away by the peace and relaxing environment of this area. We stayed in the Heron cottage. It had a lovely enclosed area for the dogs, which meant we could let them potter about happily without too much concern. The hot tub initially looked like it was pretty open to anyone walking by, but once you're in it, it's actually angled in such a way that people can't really see much more than your head.
The cottage itself was clean and tidy, with maps of walks for the area and a list of names and numbers of local amenities. The location is beautiful and if you get a clear night, the stars come out in force! I will most definitely be back here! Walkability: Several walks are mapped out by the host with ranges of difficulties and distances all set in a beautiful wooded valley.

Review: We enjoyed a blissful long weekend here with our two dogs in a quaint little cottage which was tucked away on its own. It was just beautiful. The area is forested all around with great trails for mountain biking and walking. The cottage is well equipped and really cosy and nice to relax in. Lovely fire; always top of my list when looking for nice holiday cottages.
We loved the outside space; it was private, quiet, surrounded by nature and birdsong. The wood fired hot tub is wonderful; a real treat! This is one of the loveliest places I have stayed and can heartily recommend.

Review: Location was out of this world and the cottage was amazing. Our only gripe was the partition wall between the living room and sleeping area wasn't really suitable with a baby. but it did mention this in the write up. I just didn't realise partition wall meant no wall to the ceiling between the bedroom and the living room. It was a beautiful place though.
Wood Fired hot tub was amazing! We're definitely returning, just prob to another cottage with a proper wall so we can put our little one down to sleep and have a chat and a few drinks!

Review: A nugget of gold - location, cottage and welcome- amidst the abundant Welsh countryside. Second time I have been back, and I will be back again. Cottages are an incredibly high standard - beautifully furnished and scrupulously clean - with all the mod cons you could wish for. Wonderful _ apart from the fact I had to go home! Review: We stayed in March 2022 after an amazing week in another (much cheaper) cottage nearby. Trallwm is a great location but Tawny Owl cottage was over-priced for what is a poorly maintained and relatively poorly equipped cottage. First impressions as we drove in were good as we had wanted a secluded cottage with walking/running routes on the doorstep (and did not mind doing without WiFi or mobile coverage for a few days). However, as we entered the property, the gate latch fell off and, as we unpacked, we noticed the floor in the main living area was sagging in several places.
The floor in the bathroom was dirty and home to smelly black mould (as was the shower window alcove). In the kitchen we had to use our own frying pan (as the one provided was rusty and filthy) and our own kitchen knife as all the ones there were also rusty and needed sharpening. Upstairs the double bed mattress was thin and poorly sprung, very low, and set in the eaves so not a good combination for anyone with back or neck problems.
Given that there is no mobile signal, phone or WiFi at Tawny Owl, we were surprised that there was no visit from anyone checking to see if everything was OK (had there been, we could have reported these problem areas at the time). We had really wanted to enjoy this cottage but it was poor especially in comparison with all the many previous properties we have used.
