Who We Are

At Stonehill Nursery School, we pride ourselves on being a vibrant and inclusive community that provides an exceptional start to education for our young pupils. Our school is federated with Dale Community Primary School and is committed to working in partnership with our parents to provide family learning opportunities led by our dedicated staff and outside agencies. As a nursery school, we strive to create a nurturing environment that fosters a love of learning and allows our children to grow and develop at their own pace.

Our Services

Our nursery provides a range of services to support the development of our young pupils. We offer a Two Year Old Provision for children from the age of 2, as well as a Three and Four Year Old Provision for children from the age of 3. Our provision is designed to provide a high-quality early years education, including play-based learning and activities that stimulate their cognitive, physical, and emotional development. We also offer a range of activities and sessions, including a weekly book swap, which encourages parental involvement and engagement with the nursery.

Communication and Language Development

At Stonehill Nursery School, we recognize the importance of communication and language development in the early years. We have trained our staff in Elklan, a communication-friendly approach that supports the development of children's communication and language skills. Additionally, we have implemented the Hanen Program, a language intervention program designed to support children with language delays and autism spectrum disorder.

Admissions

We welcome children from the age of 2 and offer a range of admissions options, including two-year-old and three-year-old provision. Our admissions process prioritizes applications based on specific criteria, including children who are "Looked After" and those with special educational needs. We aim to provide each child with a place as soon as possible after their birthday, and offer a minimum of three terms in the nursery.

Safeguarding and SEND

At Stonehill Nursery School, we are committed to safeguarding and special educational needs. We have a dedicated SEND coordinator who works closely with our teaching staff to provide individualized support for children with additional needs. We also have a safeguarding policy in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our pupils.
