As a family-run hotel, we pride ourselves on providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Our Story

Hotel Cymyran opened its doors to its first customers in April 2008, two years after Duncan & Prydwen Maclean decided to put their plans into action. Duncan, originally from the Isle of Mull and a builder by trade, has lived on Anglesey with his wife Prydwen, who is from the area, since 1970. Duncan has always had a great interest in food and cooking and for many years they had both felt that the West Coast of Anglesey would benefit greatly from a wider variety of restaurants. It wasn't until 2006 that their dreams started to become a reality.

Reviews
Positive: Guests enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep, clean rooms, and comfortable surroundings in a few instances.
Negative: Guests reported a range of issues with the hotel, including poor room quality and maintenance, unfriendly or rude staff, and a lack of available amenities and services.

Room Quality and Maintenance

The reviews highlight a recurring theme of poor room quality and maintenance. Several guests reported finding their rooms in a state of disarray, with issues such as dirty sheets, mould, and lack of cleanliness. Some descriptions were particularly vivid, with mentions of animal hair and dated decor.

Service and Staff

The service and staff at this hotel were also widely criticized. Guests reported difficulty in getting in touch with staff, with many attempting to contact the hotel only to receive no response. Those who did manage to get through were often met with unfriendly or rude demeanor.

Location and Amenities

The location of the hotel was also called into question, with some guests reporting that it was not as close to the beach or amenities as advertised. Additionally, many of the services and amenities promised by the hotel were not available, including breakfast, dinner, and working Wi-Fi.

Other Issues

Several guests reported issues with the hotel's management, including being locked out of their rooms, finding their rooms had been given to someone else, and being subjected to poor behavior from staff. The hotel's cleanliness and safety were also raised as concerns, with guests reporting issues with mould and poor bathroom conditions.

Reviews that Contradict the Norm

There were two reviews that stood out from the rest, both of which reported a positive experience. Boycey praised the hotel's comfortable and friendly surroundings, while Robert Hazlehurst enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep and reported clean rooms. These positive reviews are a notable exception to the overwhelmingly negative feedback.
