Our History

Rocking Horse Nursery was founded in 2002 by Fiona Milner, who had a vision to create a childcare setting that would provide a safe, stimulating, and homely environment for children. With a lifelong passion for the outdoors, Fiona wanted to offer children the opportunity to explore and play outside, without the constraints of a traditional nursery setting.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high-quality care in a safe, stimulating, and homely environment that is responsive to the needs of children and their families. We strive to form strong partnerships within the community and build professional relationships with other services to improve outcomes for children.

Our Aims

We aim to promote positive behavior by creating an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect, where staff are role models in encouraging a sense of community. We take a flexible approach to learning, based on children's interests, and take account of the voice of the child. Our aim is to send children off to school as happy, confident, independent, enthusiastic, and successful lifelong learners.
