Empowering Young Minds for a Brighter Future
Welcome to Ellenbrook Community Primary School, a school that prides itself on providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for all our pupils. Located in the heart of Worsley, Manchester, we cater to a diverse community of learners, fostering a love for education and personal growth. Our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and active governors work together to create an inclusive and vibrant school culture.
At Ellenbrook Community Primary School, we follow the Salford Local Authority admissions procedures, ensuring a fair and transparent admission process for all. We offer provision for nursery and reception children, with nursery places allocated to those whose fourth birthday falls between 1 September and 31 August of that academic year. Please note that admission to our nursery class does not guarantee admission to the reception class.
We understand the importance of clear communication between home and school, and we strive to keep parents informed through newsletters, our website, and regular meetings. Our office staff, led by Ms McHugh, are available to address any queries during school hours, Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. The school day runs from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm, with morning registration at 9.00 am, providing a total curriculum hours of 26.25 hours per week.
Our Services and Provisions
Ellenbrook Community Primary School offers a wide range of services and provisions to support the holistic development of our pupils. These include:
- Curriculum Overview: Our curriculum is designed to inspire a love for learning and to equip our pupils with the skills they need for the future. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, covering English, Mathematics, Science, Computing, Design and Technology, History, Geography, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE).
- Resources for Parents: We believe in the importance of parental involvement in a child's education. We provide resources for parents to support learning at home, including reading materials and guides for understanding the curriculum.
- Before/After Provision & Clubs: We offer a range of before and after-school clubs and activities, providing opportunities for pupils to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom.
- School Meals: Our school meals are nutritious and balanced, catering to a variety of dietary needs and preferences. We encourage healthy eating habits and provide education on the importance of a balanced diet.
- Operation Encompass: We are part of Operation Encompass, a police-led initiative that provides early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents involving their pupils. This allows us to provide appropriate support to the child.
- Policies: We have a range of policies in place to ensure the safety, well-being, and academic progress of our pupils. These include policies on behaviour, bullying, safeguarding, and special educational needs.
